Training in facilitating the My Earth programme – UGA doctoral schools

11 March 2024 – Saint Martin d’Hères Campus
Would you like to experience the My Earth workshop and learn how to run it ? You can still do so by signing up for the training session on 11 March 2024 !

The training course lasts 8 hours :
Part 1 : Taking part in a My Earth workshop lasting 180 minutes (4 hours)
Part 2 : Training on how to use the tool and facilitate sessions (4 hours)

It will be organised by the Doctoral College of the University of Grenoble Alpes, as an in-person, one-day event on the Saint Martin d’Hères campus (the exact location will be communicated to participants a few days before the session).

Open to UGA PhD students, this training aims to introduce you to the workshop and how it works, immerse you in a workshop session, familiarise you with its various components, and teach you how to supervise a game table so that you can lead a table during future sessions.

Training objectives

To discover the roles and responsibilities of a My Earth workshop facilitator :

To understand the challenges of reducing greenhouse gas emissions at local and national levels and to be able to convey a message raising awareness amongst participants at the game table,
To identify the stages involved in running the ‘serious game’, from setting up a game table through to facilitating the session and presenting the results,
Help participants to produce their ‘surprise report’ and embody their characters,
Facilitate the negotiation phases by rephrasing proposals and encouraging the emergence of collective intelligence,
Summarise the discussions and present the results during the debriefing phase in conjunction with the other game tables.
