Second training session

Training to become a facilitator.

The second training session for the 2nd cohort took place on 30 March and 2 April 2021 !

The training lasts 6 hours :
 Part 1 : Action-based training, 3 hours 30 minutes
Part 2 : Facilitation tools and techniques, 2 hours 30 minutes

It will be delivered remotely, over two half-days. It aims to introduce you to the game, how it works and its various components, and to teach you how to supervise a game table, 4 hours of facilitation, in preparation for the large-scale session planned for June 2021.

Training objectives

Discover the role of a My Earth in 180’ facilitator :

Understand the challenges of reducing carbon emissions at local and national levels and be able to convey an awareness-raising message to participants at the game table,
Identify the stages involved in running the serious game, from setting up a game table through to facilitating the session and presenting the results,
Help participants produce their “surprise report” and embody their characters,
Facilitate the negotiation phases by rephrasing proposals and fostering the emergence of collective intelligence,
Summarise the discussions and present the results during the debriefing phase in conjunction with the other game tables.

The training leads to a training certificate.

Reminder The game takes place in two 1.5-hour phases.

An awareness-raising phase : introduction to the game, the issues at stake and the characters.
A role-play phase : players collectively negotiate how to optimise business travel using a game board, with an initial “soft” negotiation sequence followed by a “hard” negotiation sequence, supported by a team leader. To get the most out of the experience, these two sequences are followed by a 30-minute debriefing phase, optional.
