Training course on facilitating My Earth in 180 Minutes – Université Grenoble Alpes

22 and 23 May 2023 in Grenoble
Would you like to train to become a facilitator for the My Earth in 180’ workshop ? You can still do so by registering for the training session on 22 and 23 May 2023 !

The training course lasts 9 hours :
Part 1 : Taking part in a My Earth in 180’ workshop (3 hours)
Part 2 : Training on the tool and on facilitating sessions (3 hours)
followed by Part 3 : Facilitating a My Earth in 180’ workshop (3 hours), subject to availability and opportunities to facilitate.

It will preferably be organised as a face-to-face event, over two half-days, in Grenoble, primarily for UGA staff. It aims to introduce you to the workshop and how it works, immerse you in a workshop session, familiarise you with its various components, and teach you how to supervise a game table so that you can lead a table during future sessions.

UGA staff may submit their application via the online system on FICEL so that it can be reviewed by the Skills Development Department : https://ficel.univ-grenoble-alpes.fr/index.php/formation/home (Code 2.13 RSE).

For those outside the UGA, you can register via the following link : https://materreen180min.limesurvey.net/523234?lang=fr
 in person, subject to availability*,
online : if you wish to participate online, please specify this on the registration form

* For those unable to attend the training due to a lack of available places, further sessions will be offered shortly, to which you will be invited.

Training objectives

To discover the role of a My Earth in 180’ facilitator :

To understand the challenges of reducing greenhouse gas emissions at local and national levels and to be able to convey a message raising awareness amongst participants at the game table,
To identify the stages involved in running the ‘serious game’, from setting up a game table through to facilitating the session and presenting the results,
Help participants to produce their ‘surprise report’ and to embody their characters,
Facilitate the negotiation phases by rephrasing proposals and fostering the emergence of collective intelligence,
Summarise the discussions and present the results during the debriefing phase in conjunction with the other game tables.

The training course leads to a training certificate upon completion of Part 2, and may lead to certification upon completion of Part 3, subject to certain conditions.
